VectorVest, Inc Investing Masterclass
I was MC for the
VectorVest, Inc Investing Masterclass in
#LasVegas and here is a summary of insights: I set the scene on Friday by highlighting
“Today AI related stocks comprise half of the S&P (when you include hyperscalers, semiconductors, hardware and software). Brent is at $104 a barrel. Inflation in the US was reported this morning at 3.4% and interest rates were raised yesterday in Europe. The top 5 VST stocks are all petroleum. JP Morgan Chase set the record for the most profitable quarter in the history of American banking”.
The VectorVest coaches went on to note:
Earnings direction is the key that ultimately determines true upside potential
If somebody is trading stocks, the first thing they should look at is market direction (before any individual stock)
Favour undervalued stocks and a narrowing market is a sign of risk.
If you're buying a stock for it's dividend, you need to have growth and safety as well as yield.
Strong winners need room to run and sometimes, the best decision is "No".
It's expected that there will be 1100 new ETFs this year, but it's important to be aware of an ETF's liquidity before you buy (or plan to sell it).
You can be very risk averse and still find an equity strategy to suit you.
Options can be very risky, but if used correctly, they can be a great risk management tool and an income generator.
A great stock can still be a poor trade if the timing is wrong.
I interviewed
Linda Royer about the future of the company and she shared her updates in terms of how they're leaning into AI, new product developments, their changing business model, the sophisticated way they're listening to customers and how her legacy is set to build and grow on her predecessor Dr. Di Liddo and align with her values.
